Theophany Jar Painting
On December 10th, all children are invited to return to the Parish Hall after Sunday School, at 12:45 to create “stained glass” bottles and jars for Holy water for Theophany. Children under age 6 who desire to paint should be accompanied and assisted by a parent. You may want to bring a paint shirt/smock or a child-sized disposable garbage bag that your child could wear. Older children are free to create independently.
This year, we have a good supply of distinctive bottles and jars. Further donations by any member of the parish are welcome, especially any clean vessel with a top that has character or a unique flair. Interested adults are welcome to join the group. Children usually paint up to 2 vessels, one to keep and one to offer to the congregation at the time of the feast, in return for a small donation to help defray costs.
Volunteers are being solicited to help apply the black simulated “lead” to the children’s dry creations and oven bake them, either at church or at home, prior to Theophany on January 6th. Please contact Amy Bazuzi if you are interested in helping.
