Russian Icon Tour

Fr. Ilya Gotlinsky invites you to join him on a comprehensive study tour of:

Russian Sacred Art
July 3rd—22nd, 2006

The “Russian Icon Tour 2006” is the second of a highly successful comprehensive study tour. Along with all of the major collections of Russian Icons, many less famous, generally overlooked, but yet very important monuments and collections of the Russian Medieval Sacred Art are included.

The itinerary has been fully and personally prepared by Fr. Ilya Gotlinsky. This is a thematically modified version of various tour-pilgrimages that Fr. Ilya has led over the past several years. Having worked directly with museum staff and clergy, many who have a longstanding and personal friendship, he has arranged for you to see and to do much more than you would with a tour prepared by a travel agency. Travelers will get a real in depth course, not only on the History of Russian Sacred Art and Architecture, but also on the History of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian State.

Included are visits to: Moscow, most cities of the Golden Ring (from Sergiev Posad to Rostov the Great), Vologda, Ferapontovo, St. Petersburg, Staraya Ladoga, Novgorod and Pskov.

For more information, please visit Fr. Gotlinsky’s website.

The tour cost based on 20 participants is $3,600, including airfare or $2,800.00 for land only. The cost of the trip includes accommodations at three star hotels, transportation, tours, entry fees, and most meals.

Sign-up Deadline: March 30th, 2006
